First Christian Church of Portland has graciously offered the use of its facilities for GLAD’s traditional pre-Assembly Event. The church is located at 1315 S.W. Broadway, approximately two miles from the Oregon Convention Center.
The Event will be held on Saturday, July 23 commencing at 8:30 a.m. with registration and continental breakfast.
Through the theme "Jesus Calls Us . . . Out," participants will have the opportunity to experience GLAD’s ministries on a first hand basis, to join in worship and to receive of an offering designated for specific non-GLAD ministries. The day’s activities will include GLAD’s annual business meeting and lunch and conclude by 5:00 p.m. to allow attendees to have dinner and prepare for the Assembly’s opening worship.
Registration fees are $25 for those financially able and $15 for seminarians, students and those with limited financial resources. Efforts are underway to coordinate transportation for attendees from the convention center and/or nearby hotels to the church and back in the afternoon. Transportation may be complimentary or fee based.
